How does the SRS DMD-1000 work?
The Safe Roof System consists of an OSHA and FDA-compliant infrared sender and receiver mounted under the roof deck, and a series of optical targets attached to the top of the bar joists at the mid point of the span. If a joist deflects under load to a point where corrective action is needed, the laser beam is interrupted and the receiver activates an alarm panel. The system will pinpoint the roof truss bay where the problem has occurred, giving the facility manager sufficient time to correct the problem. System options include 24-hour dial paging and direct off-site monitoring.
